The Giants jersey has become one of the most recognisable in world hockey. Wherever you go in the world, if it’s a hockey town and you have your Giants jersey on you can guarantee someone will make comment or ask about the jersey, the team, a player on the team and more often than not, how they can get one.

Picking the colour of the jersey, like picking the name would be an issue that the design team would have to be careful with. They eventually settled on Teal, White, Red and Black and those four colours would be the basis for all future Giants jersey’s be that home or road.

Due to the constant changes in sponsors its not unusual for the Giants to go through a high number of jeresys, with new ones coming out by the year including special edition one off jerseys.

The first Giants jersey was released in 2000 and even came without sponsors featuring an inaugural year badge. In time the sponsors would come and go and the jerseys design changing, but the colours always remained the same until this day.

Over the years the Giants have produced a number of ‘competition jerseys’, that they would produce for certain competitions or tournaments they where involved with. There was the red jersey the team wore during the ice cup in 2001, the Black jersey they wore in the now infamous challenge cup final against Ayr in 2002 that has never been seen on the ice again and there is the popular Continental cup jersey that the team wore during their spell playing against some of Europes best in the semi-finals round at the Odyssey and again at the finals in Lugano. It was especially different as it featured an alternate logo. On the 28th December 2006 in a game against the Nottingham Panthers the Giants wore a one off special Silver Coors Light jersey with Giants logo on the shoulders. The jersey’s where later auctioned off.

Giants jerseys have been hard to come by over the years with the team only producing a limited number of replica jerseys. Of course you’ll see many fans throughout the arena in their jersey but it can be hard to get one if you are not in early. The whole Irish/Canadian affection has increased the popularity of the jersey and made it quite the collectors item with many folk.
