2005-2006
Schedule | Statistics | Standings
2005-2006 will be remembered as the year of Theo - The year that NHL legend Theoren Fleury came to play for the Giants and lit up the Elite League with his wild personality, amazing hockey skills and outstanding numbers. Sporting the best line-up they had iced in years the Giants took the league by storm and lead from start to finish winning their second League title in team history. It may have been a little shaky by the end but averaging over four goals per game made it one of the most exciting seasons we’ve seen. Fleury dominated the points scoring and averaged 2.13 points per game. When it came to the playoffs however, things went sour again. The Giants qualified for the final-four and things looked up but a disappointing semi-final loss to Newcastle ended the season for Giants fans a day early. Still, the sheer entertainment we got from Theo and the boys that year will not be forgotten for a long time.
