Jason Bowen remains one of the great characters of the Giants. Nobody hit harder than him in the league and he was always an entertaining player to watch. Standing at 6′4 he was a powerhouse on the Giants defence and not many screened a Giants goalie when Bowsey was out there. An intimidating player because of his physical style he was a stay-at-home defenseman but was also occasionally used on the left-wing were he was devastating on the forecheck. After his first two years in Belfast he played a year in Ayr/Guildford before returning to Belfast for the rest of his playing days. It was with great disappointment to all Giants fans when he announced his retirement.

After leaving the Giants Jason Bowen retired and opened his own business in Belfast were he lives with his Belfast born wife.
