The first thing about Dave is that you don’t look straight at his stats when trying to see what kind of player he is. Never going to be the leading scorer, Dave’s game came from his penalty killing ability and his two-way play. One of the best defensive forwards that Giants have ever had he helped the team win the league in his first year and then scored the empty net goal that confirmed the Giants as playoff champions in his second year. Although he only lasted two years in Belfast he was part of the most successful two years in the Giants history to date showing that there more to hockey teams than just goal scorers.
After leaving the Giants Dave played two years in Cardiff before retiring due to a serious back injury. He went on to coach the Sheffield Steelers.
