Wardy is one of the most popular players to have ever pulled on a Giants jersey thanks to his never say die play, 100% effort and ability to grind in the corners. On top of that he could score goals as well and left the Giants as it’s second all-time leading goalscorer. Wardy came into the inaugural Giants team and stayed on for four years taking the team into the Elite League era and helping to bring through the local talent that found themselves in the team in 03-04. His popularity with the fans was shown again for all to see in 2007 when he showed up to a great reception to best friend, Todd Kelman’s testimonial.

After leaving the Giants Colin Ward went into retirement back in Canada.
