After taking a 3-0 lead early in the first period most people believed the game for what it was worth was a done job and that the Giants could finally turn their attention to the big clash this weekend with Sheffield. Maybe that’s what they did but whatever happened a poor second period allowed Manchester back into the game to tie it up and eventually take a third period 4-3 lead. That appeared to kick start the Giants who for all their poor play at times always looked like they could step it up a gear. A game tieing goal by Marc Levers made way for Todd Kelman to fire home a bullet from the blue line to win the game. George Awada added an empty net goal right on the final buzzer to give himself a three point night and his second man of the match performance in as many games.
