George Awada and Fredrik Nasval scored their 21st goals of the season and Awada picked up the man of the match award on his way to earning the Giants a 2-2 road tie against the Cardiff Devils.

The Devils came out flying and went 2-0 up early on but a Giants fight back made it 2-1 by the end of the first and then later in the second Fredrik Nasval tied the score. The game went into overtime but it ended with the teams sharing the points.

The Giants now sit 3 points behind the Blaze with one game in hand and still all to play for.

The struggling Steelers have had enough and sacked ex-Giants ace, Rob Stewart. After a run of poor results ending in two defeats in the past number of days against Cardiff the Sheffield management decided it was time for a change.

Rob who only last summer was sacked by the Giants after one season was brought in by Sheffield with only days until the start of the regular season after Sheffield’s legendary coach Mike Bliesdale left to go back to Canada to coach.
