Stevens moving on

Rocket Rod Stevens will not be back at the Giants. He has decided he wants a new challenge now and will be off to find a new team but we wish him well. Rod Stevens is the Giants highest ever goal scorer in all competitions with 64 goals in 173 games and sits second all time in points scored with 131.

Sandrock off to the DEL

Giants superstar season MVP Robby Sandrock who finished 3rd in the league in points scoring despite being a defencman has decided he wont be joining the Giants again next season as he has signed a one year deal with the Iserlohn Roosters of the DEL.

Its the same team that Giants’ ex-coach Dave Whistle signed up for last week. Robby is the first Giant to announce that he wont be back next year as he follows Dave to Germany.  MORE »

PLAYOFF CHAMPIONS

The Giants lifted the Playoff crown for 2003 with a superb win over the London Knights. The Knights just wouldn’t go away and kept up the pressure on the Giants the whole game long as the Giants kept taking the lead only to see the Knights bring it back each time keeping the fans very nervous and on the edge of their seats. Shane Johnson had the game of his Giants care

It wasn’t until 59:13 when Dave Matsos slotted in the empty net goal that the fans could really celebrate and celebrate they did singing and dancing and drinking into the night.  MORE »

Into finals on penalties

What a game this one was. It was all action from the start as both teams took the game to each other as both sets of crowds tried to out sing each other also. Each side looked a little nervous and not wanting to over commit on the chance they might let in a goal espically with the netminders where Joel Laing and Ryan Bach and no team was likely to score two against the goalies when they where in the form they where in today.  MORE »

New league ready to go

Clubs playing out of nine cities have confirmed their participation in the inaugural season of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).

Teams from Basingstoke, Belfast, Cardiff, Coventry, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Nottingham and Sheffield have all re-affirmed their commitment to commencing play in September of 2003. Groups from both Dublin and Milton Keynes have also committed to joining the league at the earliest opportunity. MORE »

Elite League and Premier League team up

Great awards night
