As some may know, and many may not know, I am soon to be moving off to live in Canada when my visa comes through. It will mean a lack of Giants games for me in the future, but don’t worry I am seeking professional help in order to ready myself for the huge gap in my life!

Without being able to attend many games I feel it would be unfair to try right game reports and in depth opinions on the team. I will indeed try to watch the games online while I can but that wont always be possible. I don’t want to give up the site because of the work I have put in and will try find the time to update the information pertaining to the history of the team which in essence is what the site is all about. Still, the blog has proved pretty popular and it would be nice to keep it running throughout the upcoming season.

I will continue to contribute and blog from time to time on what I do see, what I hear, what I read and what I feel pretty much, but for game reports, opinions and the thoughts of someone who is actually in attendance at Odyssey (or away games for that matter) then your services are required. I’ve added a Giants legends page to the site with a handful of guys who have helped shaped the Belfast Giants over the past seven seasons.  Some only played one year and others have played most of the last seven seasons but all have in their own way become part of the Giants fabric.  Everyone will idintify with them, have memories of them and all are big fan favourites and characters in their own way.

Remember the good old days… Well, if you cant you can now look back on them.  After hunting though some of the archive articles and game reports from the old website and with this being a Giants History website, I’ve now added them onto this site for reading.  Dated on the days of posting at the time, they have been categorised under ‘Archives’.  Theres a few in place now and I’ll add to it in time as I hunt down some old articles to copy and paste.

Before I head off to the land of the maple leaf for a few days shy of three weeks to get up close and personal with the Stanley Cup finals, I must post about the latest two signings by the team.  They are two everyone will be glad to hear of and I bet not one Giants fan will object to them.  MVP Roman Gavalier and alternate captain Mark Morrison have signed on for another year.  MORE »

I’ll be off to Edinburgh this weekend to take in the double header against the Caps so there will be no game reports or other updates on the site until early next week.  A huge travelling support is expected for what is now becoming a yearly trip to Scotland for the big double header.  It will bring back memories of my last big hockey trip to Scotland when the Giants took on Ayr way back in the 01-02 season.  What a travelling support that was, six bus loads and an away arena filled with Giants fans.  Here’s hoping for some of the same this weekend.
