In an interview with SkySports.com Todd Kelman has talked about the year that Theo Fleury came to play in Belfast, how he acted like an obcessed fan rather than a regular team-mate and how Theo would tell them all stories and get them going in games. GTV has put up onto YouTube what I believe is their first two video’s of the season. The first one is an interview with Pat Bateman after his fight with the Edinburgh goalie last week and the second is an interview with newboy Jeff Szewz. Sean McMorrow is doing that interview and certainly appears to have a nack for for the media side of the game, an area he might want to explore when he finishes his playing career!

MIRROR: Refs make Giants boss lose the Ed

Mirror.co.uk — THE Belfast Giants split the first two games of the new Elite League season, beating the Nottingham Panthers 4-3 after a penalty shoot-out in front of a crowd of over 4,800 at the Odyssey Arena on Saturday night before losing 6-4 on the road to the Coventry Blaze.

The big talking point of the opening weekend was the change to the rules this season.

The zero tolerance approach to clutching and grabbing saw referee Michael Hicks make 26 minor penalties in last night’s game.

More Familuar faces for Belfast

According to the final paragraph in an article from Belfast Telegraph regarding the return of Todd Kelman to the Belfast Giants for a 7th season, it mentions that other locally based players, including Belfast natives Graeme Walton and Mark Morrison, plus Jason Bowen, Shane Johnson and Curtis Huppe, are all expected to put pen to paper on new contracts with the club in the coming weeks.
