Sean McMorrow is set to drop his gloves…
Elite League 2009/10 | Friday 20 November 2009 by Richard BlayneySean McMorrow is set to drop his gloves for the Giants cause again tonight and is making sure everyone is aware of it in the media prior to the Giants double header with Nottingham this weekend. In a potential battle to see who leads the Elite League after the weekend the two teams will do battle with the puck and it seems with their fists.
McMorrow’s latest challenge is to Panthers newboy, Mario Larocque who comes with a tough reputation but one which McMorrow wants to put to the test. He feels Larocque would be doing his team-mate Bergin a favor by stepping up as McMorrow has fought and beat him twice this year.
McMorrow does however feel that he will fight multiple times this weekend, not only against Larocque but also Bergin at some point.
This sort of thing will suck newbie fans through the door if they get a hold of a paper prior to the game and hopefully it works. Hopefully the Giants put on a good show of hockey as well and win the game and hook some potentially new fans.
McMorrow is undefeated in his 10 fights so far this season and is just 2 fights shy of tying the season high record by Shaun Skiehar of fights by a Giants player and we aren’t even halfway through the season. That is an interesting point for the many that though having a heavyweight in the team this year would be pointless because most teams were going the skilled route.
