Expect a high scoring end-to-end game tonight
Game Blogs 2008/09 | Friday 13 February 2009 by Richard BlayneyThe Giants are back in action tonight at home. Friday 13th, a day that some class as unlucky. If you believe that gibberishand especially if you are a goalie and even more especially if you happen to be playing in the Odyssey Arena come 7.30 p.m. tonight then you might want to look away now. Because if previous results are anything to go by between the Giants and Panthers this season then both tenders could be in for unlucky nights.
This will be the third meeting between the two teams this season with two more to follow after this evenings encounter. The Giants have won two of the three but been outscored by the Panthers 16-13. That is 29 goals in total in just three games. It should make for a fun game tonight if that pattern repeats.
The Giants won the first game between the two 7-6 in Nottingham before beating them again in the Odyssey 4-3 but in the third game back in Nottingham it was the Panthers who got revenge with a 7-2 win. It is a big game for both teams as they look to cling to the coat tails of the Steelers who seem to be racing away with the championship and neither team will want to give up anything to the other and so will be looking for avoid overtime at all costs.
Unfortunately I’ll be stuck in work as always for the encounter so the best I will get will be text updates for the arena but I will try compile some words when I get home on the outcome of the game.
Those who are going I hope your day isn’t unlucky and that you come home happy with a win to boot. That is Giants fans only I write these words too.
