I was in the process of doing a little research on past Giants players for an article for the blog when upon searching for artciles on Colin Shields among others, I came across a breaking story that ‘claims’ Colin Shields is on the verge of signing for the Giants again. Shields, as many will remember, played for the Giants during the 05-06 season - the same year Theo Fleury graced the Odyssey ice. I’m not sure the validity of this report from what appears to be a new blog called ‘the Snow Plough’, but it was certainly worth a mention in what is already feeling like a long off-season.

As for the research on previous Giants players, it is part of on going research for the summer upgrades to Giants-History.com. I hope to have plenty of changes and additions to the site in the coming months to help shorten the off-season just a bit. As for now it’s back to the NHL playoffs and here’s hoping that rumour has some legs.
