Good to go
February 2nd, 2008Make no mistake about it, this is the game of the season, the one we have all been waiting for. This is a must win for the Giants and if they do indeed keep their winning streak going tonight they will move three points ahead of Coventry in the title race. Yes the Blaze have four games in hand but the pressure will really be on. Even going into tonights game the Giants have the mental edge knowing they are top of the league now and that the Blaze are coming off a two-game losing streak.
If truth be told I didn’t feel this game would be much of a factor at all, except for pride, only a few months ago. We seemed long out of the title race and everything for the rest of the year until the playoffs would be ‘one-up-manship’. Thankfully a huge winning run has helped things and the Giants now find themselves in a position were tonights game means so very much.
A huge crowd is expected to turn out to the Odyssey to catch the top of the table clash and I know my excitment is already building. It’s 2:38 p.m. and four hours and twenty two minutes until the puck drops. I’ll be catching the train to the Odyssey shortly for a few beers before heading into the game. Beers before a game like this are absoutely vital to calm the nerves and I fully reccommend it to anyone.
Let’s get it done Giants . . .
