And back with a win

January 30th, 2008

Back over the border with all two points . . . A little late with the blog but here none the less . . .

Dundalk was a great trip, the best trip down to the South so far this season out of the three their have been. The place was sold out and the Giants fans made some serious noise it kind of reminded me of the playoff weekend. Talking of which the night before heading to Dundalk I booked my trip to Nottingham for the playoff weekend, heading out on the Friday morning at the crack of dawn and coming back on the Monday morning even earlier. It’s going to be tough on the body, but with the right mind-set and a Giants victory I’m sure the 6.30am flight from East Midlands to Belfast City is do-able.

Ok, were was I? Yes, the Giants won in Dundalk. I guess that is the main point of it all. They won without being outstanding. Big Ed Courtenay had aparantly just arrived back in the country from a trip to the States but still managed a three point night. The win puts the Giants within three points of the Blaze after they had a heavy defeat to the Nottingham Panthers.

Since this is being penned midway through the week, it would be only fair to point out that the following night the Giants hit the road and won again. This time in Hull. It put the Giants within one point of the Blaze who lost for a second straight time. Are the Blaze beginning to crack? I say nothing for fear of scudding anything!
