Today the EIHL released initial fixtures for the new season, giving the Giants first 7 home games.  As reported late last week, the fixtures where due for release on Monday past, however another delay has seen them set back until next week. 

On the next page is a list of the Giants first 7 home games of the season:
1st game is - Saturday 9th Sept Vs Panthers
2nd game is - Saturday 23rd Sept Vs Vipers
3rd game is - Saturday 30th Sept Vs Coventry
4th game is - Thursday 12th Oct Vs Devils
5th game is - Saturday 14th Oct Vs Stringrays
6th game is - Friday 27th Oct Vs Phoenix
77th game is - Sunday 29th Oct Vs Steelers

The following is a statement released by the Elite league today:

The initial fixtures for the 2006/07 Elite League season have been released today.

“Fixture setting has complications and this year the league had to deal with the additional logistical issues of new rinks being built in both Manchester and Cardiff, plus the addition of a new Elite League team in Hull” reported League Chairman Eamon Convery. “ I very much appreciate that club supporters have been awaiting the release of the fixtures and thank them for their patience and understanding”.

The league is still working on a few matters and it is hoped that the full schedule will be released early next week.

Teams have been very active during the summer months recruiting many new players and it should prove to be a fantastic season. Not all rosters have been completed but what has been announced so far ought to encourage every supporter to rally all their friends to get out and support their club
