Devils 3, Giants 4 (SO)

The Giants put up their forth successive win and second in as many nights against the Cardiff Devils winning both games in their home and home series against the Devils.  The win came as a result of a penalty shootout after both teams tied regulation play and five minutes of overtime 3-3.  George Awada was the man of the night scoring his 23rd of the season during the game and then picking up the winner on the shootout.  It puts the Giants on a 3-3 record in shutouts this season.

Coventry were also winners in the night keeping the gap at the top of the league to 6 points.  Coventry also have one game in hand.  It keeps the pressure on the Giants who play at home again this Friday against Newcastle needing a win to keep any hope of league glory intact.

Other Giants goals on the night game from Jason Ruff and Jeff Hutchins who scored his 30th goal of the season.

It was the final game of the six games Curtis Huppe had to sit out while de-registered meaning Ed Courtenay now has the option to return behind the bench but on his form it’s anyones guess what will happen.

STREAKS:

- Jeff Hutchins has a six game point scoring streak scoring eleven points in that span.
- Ed Courtenay also has a six game points streak scoring eleven points in that span as well.
